Michael Tickner is an experienced and active local Councillor who has represented Beckenham residents for a number of years. He lives off Court Downs Road and commutes to London from Beckenham Junction every day.  He has wide experience of Planning and Traffic Management issues, and has successfully led the bid to secure £4.3m funding for the major public realm improvement of Beckenham High Street.  He is an active campaigner for road safety improvements, including at Westgate Bridge, Southend Road, and the junction of Bromley Road and Downsbridge Rd-Scotts Lane.

The new roundabout and pedestrian crossings are now operational and being very well received by local residents. The final work will be finished off on 4th-5th October following another successful road safety campaign by Conservative Councillor Michael Tickner.

Council Investing £2.6 Million In Kelsey Park Works

Councillors in Beckenham have welcomed a decision by Conservative-run Bromley Council to invest £2,567,000 in improving the very popular Kelsey Park. The money will be used to replace one of the wooden footbridges and to desilt the lake in the park. The news comes as the Council also launched a new page on its website to make it easier for users of the park to keep updated on the progress made with replacing footbridge.

Bakery wants Alcohol and Music until Midnight

Previously notorious High Street shop “210” now known as Dough Artisan Bakehouse has applied to Bromley Council for a licence to sell alcohol for consumption both on the premises and to take away. The applicant from Essex also wants permission to show films, put on live amplified performances, and play recorded music both inside and outside the building.
