Councillor for Beckenham Town & Copers Cope ward
Michael Tickner is an experienced and active local Councillor who has represented Copers Cope residents for a number of years. He lives off Court Downs Road and commutes to London from Beckenham Junction every day.He has wide experience of Planning and Traffic Management issues, and is currently Chairman of the Beckenham Town Centre group which has successfully led the bid to secure £4.3m funding for a major public realm improvement.  New sign posts and litter bins have already appeared in the High Street.

Concerns Raised Over 358 Accessibility Features

London Assembly Member for Bexley and Bromley, Thomas Turrell, asked raised concerns about the accessibility features of the 358 tram bus which came into operation in November.

New Junction for Southend Rd-Foxgrove Rd-Park Rd

The new roundabout and pedestrian crossings are now operational and being very well received by local residents. The final work will be finished off on 4th-5th October following another successful road safety campaign by Conservative Councillor Michael Tickner.

Peter Fortune Calls on Mayor to Abandon Pay-Per-Mile Road Charging

London Assembly Member for Bexley and Bromley, Peter Fortune, has called on the Labour Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, to scrap plans for pay-per-mile road charging in Greater London. This follows Peter uncovering evidence of a ‘Project Detroit’- a TfL programme partly aimed at enabling forms of road charging based on distance.

Council Investing £2.6 Million In Kelsey Park Works

Councillors in Beckenham have welcomed a decision by Conservative-run Bromley Council to invest £2,567,000 in improving the very popular Kelsey Park. The money will be used to replace one of the wooden footbridges and to desilt the lake in the park. The news comes as the Council also launched a new page on its website to make it easier for users of the park to keep updated on the progress made with replacing footbridge.

Tennis Courts across the borough are set to receive thousands of pounds worth of investment to restore the courts, improve security and enable online bookings.
