Stephen Ayshford is standing as a Local Conservative candidate for Beckenham Town and Copers Cope.
Stephen bought his first home in Beckenham in 2023, when he was 26, putting down roots in the area he now hopes to represent. As a local resident, Stephen is committed to listening to and being a strong voice for the community in which he lives. With a keen interest in making our streets safer for all, preserving the character of Beckenham and ensuring that we retain a busy and vibrant High Street, Stephen believes in supporting local businesses, protecting our parks and being an advocate for other younger people across Beckenham and the whole of Bromley.
Stephen holds both a Master’s degree and Bachelor’s degree from the University of Portsmouth, being the first in his family to attend university. He works as a conference producer and is experienced in delivering high-profile programmes and managing a wide range of stakeholders. He brings first-hand insight from working with both the public and private sectors - experience that has shaped his interest in effective governance, public safety and evidence-based decision-making.
If privileged enough to be elected, Stephen hopes to be just one of three active Conservative councillors in Beckenham - Councillors who would work tirelessly to ensure that residents' concerns are addressed, whilst providing an additional voice promoting the priorities unique to Beckenham to the entire Borough.
