About Shortlands & Park Langley Ward

Shortlands and Park Langley Ward (London Borough of Bromley) is represented on the Council by Councillors Felicity Bainbridge, Adam Grant and Gemma Turrell. 

In terms of parliamentary representation, it is split between the Beckenham & Penge, and the Bromley & Biggin Hill parliamentary constituencies, with Bromley & Biggin Hill (which covers the Village, Ravensbourne Valley, Queens Mead Recreation Ground as well as the streets around Bromley Garden and Ridley Road) represented by Conservative Member of Parliament Peter Fortune. The area is represented in the London Assembly by Thomas Turrell as part of the Bexley and Bromley constituency.

The ward is made up of three distinct communities; Shortlands, the Park Langley estate and the Ravensbourne Valley. The ward boundaries between Scotts Lane and Westmoreland road, and from Wickham Way to Beckenham Lane, as well as up to Highland road towards Bromley. The ward includes Shortlands and Ravensbourne Railway stations, Queens Mead Recreation Ground, South Hill Woods, Kingswood Glen, sections of the Ravensbourne River and Glass Mill Pond.

Only the Conservative Group at City Hall voted against the move.
